What do we need to start a project?

In many cases, we start with a rough product idea, a problem description or a specification sheet and provide support in defining measurable product requirements for the start of the concept search.

However, the starting point can also be an existing product, which we revise and develop further.

We need:

  • Description of the problem or task description of a product
  • Scheduling (if already available)
  • Helpful: Presentation of quantities, planned markets, target price

We are happy to support you in collecting all the necessary product requirements for a specification sheet.

In what time frame can a project be realised?

Product development usually takes one and a half to two and a half years. The most important influencing factors:

  • Knowledge of market requirements - How detailed are the product requirements already recorded?
  • Technical complexity
  • Stakeholders involved
  • Manufacturing process (tool procurement yes/no)
  • Test phase duration (field tests, tests on test rigs)
What does device development cost?

The costs are largely determined by the project duration and product complexity. In principle, we separate initial costs (development, tools, production resources) from series production costs. In any case, cost transparency towards customers is important to us.

What are the advantages over a pure engineering service provider?

We take responsibility - from concept to series production. Our customers benefit from seamless support for their development project, not only up to the specification stage, but also during implementation in production. We see the proximity of engineering and production to each other as an essential component of project success.

What do I have to take care of as a customer?

Our customers know the market and have access to a wide range of products. They are familiar with market problems and potential product applications. We can provide support in the search for technical solutions and their industrialisation.

Switzerland or China? Why does a combination offer advantages?

With our locations in Wattwil and Jiaxing, we combine the advantages of two worlds: In Switzerland, we rely on flexibility, short decision-making processes and our broad expertise in product development - in China, we take advantage of our proximity to the supplier network for procurement and quality assurance, cost savings in labour-intensive processes and the ability to carry out tests by hand.

For which quantities are you right with us?

Our production usually ranges between 100 and 20,000 units/year, but larger quantities are also possible.

Why do we make 30 different products under one roof, from respirator blowers to random orbital sanders?

Our customers' products are usually closely related in technical terms: The devices usually have mechanical functions, a gearbox, often an electric drive and a rechargeable battery. They are constructed in plastic, die-cast, as stamped or milled components as well as sheet metal bending components.
